Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.

Dr. Tamimi is a wonderful dentist. Kind, confident and works efficiently to get us in & out. His staff and dental assistants are also kind and great at making us feel at ease. He also referred us to a great root canal specialist as well. Thanks for your hard work, everyone.

Quite possibly the worst experience I have ever had. I got my wisdom teeth out a little over two weeks ago (March 31 to be specific). I woke up Wednesday morning and my mouth was incredibly sore and my left lower incision was leaking some gross pus and was inflamed. I contacted my oral surgeon (2 hours away because I am a college student and had the surgery done when I was home for spring break). I asked what the best course of action was because I could not justify driving up to have them look if it wasn’t too serious. My ORAL SURGEON suggested that I visit a general dentist. They said the dentist will be able to look, determine if it was infected, and could flush it with water and prescribe me an antibiotic. Or the dentist would say it’s serious and tell me to go to the oral surgeon’s office. Wonderful! I contacted and set up an emergency appointment with Dr. Tamimi about two hours later. I arrived and everyone was so kind. I explained to my hygienist what was going on and what my oral surgeon had said. Dr. Tamimi came back and the first thing he said to me was β€œYou know I’m not an oral surgeon, right?” I was shocked! I responded with, β€œYes, I know.” He then proceeded to say, β€œI

Dr. Tamimi is an excellent dentist. He is a very good listener, takes the time to understand your concerns, and explains everything clearly and patiently. I truly appreciated how cooperative and understanding he was throughout the entire visit. He made me feel comfortable and confident about the treatment plan. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a knowledgeable, professional, and caring dentist.
